New Jersey Bike Trails

Summer is coming to an end in New Jersey, so spend some time outside while the weather is still friendly. There is no better way to do that than by going on a bike ride! Luckily for us, there are great bike trails all over New Jersey. Whether you bring your bikes to the shore or prefer to hit the trails at home, there are bike paths for all levels of riders.

If you are vacationing at an Ocean County beach, head over to Ocean County Park. This 323-acre park has three miles of bike trails. Go on a long bike ride and then cool off by taking a dip in the park's clean swimming lake. A driving range, tennis courts, and playing fields are all available free of charge.

For a bike ride with a view, go to The Palisades Interstate Park in New Jersey. Located on the shore of the Hudson River in Bergen County, bikers ride on the scenic Henry Hudson Drive for seven miles. The path follows the Hudson River, with several places to stop and admire the view along the way. Bike riders must share the road with cars, so more skilled bikers should ride on this trail.

Central New Jersey is home to the beautiful Cheesequake State Park in Matawan. This 1,610-acre park boasts trails in length from 1.5 to 3.5 miles long. After your bike ride on the designated biking trail, take a walk down any of their four walking or hiking trails. As you walk, you can appreciate the beauty of the open fields, marshes, and forests that the park has to offer.

Always remember to be safe! Wear a helmet and be conscious of the bike riders, pedestrians, and vehicles around you. Grab your bike, get outside, and enjoy the beautiful parks of New Jersey! Happy riding!
