Short Putting Drills to Help Lower Your Score
Making putts consistently from five feet or closer is a quick way to lower your score. Kevin Maciorowski, Head Golf Professional at Colonia Country Club, shares two drills that will help you master short putts.
Drill 1. Don’t Hit the Tee — Set the ball three feet from the hole and place a tee six inches behind the ball. Take a short backswing with your putter to make sure you accelerate through the putt.
Drill 2. Around the World — Four sets of three balls are lined up north, south, east, and west of the hole. Knock each ball in to advance around the world. If you miss, reset the balls and go back to the beginning.
